Business organisations influence and evolve through ongoing social, political and technological change. Taking the perspective that businesses both affect and are affected by government and society, the subject examines the complexities of interactions between three sectors: business, society and government. The subject emphasises the social responsibility of business. The different ideologies used to legitimise the actions of business, the responses from society and the role of government (local, transnational and global) in regulating interactions, are critically evaluated.
